Kuwait Oil Tanker Company (KOTC) was established in 1957 by a group of Kuwaiti visionaries whom envisioned the transportation of Kuwaiti Oil and LPG via seas to meet the worldwide energy demand.
In 1980, KOTC became a government entity under the umbrella of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) established by the government to represent Kuwait State in the Marine industry around the world.
The Company is mainly involved in the ownership and management of Marine tankers engaged in the transportation of crude oil, refined petroleum products and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).
As the transportation arm of KPC, KOTC operates a modern balanced fleet of Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCCs), Petroleum Product Tankers and LPG Carriers to maintain a strategic coverage of KPC’s oil exports to all customers in the globe.
KOTC is recognized as one of the top tanker companies in the world, and its vessels have regularly gained industry acclaim for design innovation, energy efficiency and for setting performance benchmarks.
In 2020 KOTC completed the last phase of its building projects by having 8 new tankers ranging from Very Large Crude Carrier (VLCC), Medium Range Product tankers and LPG Carriers thus, completing the modernization and expansion of its fleet, which now stands at a total of 30 vessels.
KOTC also operates a Marine Agency Branch, acting as sole agent of all tankers calling at Kuwait’s sea ports and two LPG Filling Branches for the filling and distribution of LPG cylinders for local industry and domestic consumption.
