The RMI Registry is the second largest registry in the world, surpassing 158 million gross tons with 4,341 vessels at the end of February 2018.

At the same time, the RMI has maintained Qualship 21 status with the United States (US) Coast Guard (USCG) for 13 consecutive years. The RMI is the only one of the top three flag States that holds Qualship 21 status, an acknowledgment that is paramount for the RMI owners and operators.
