The Maritime Standard has set the deadline for this year’s TMS Awards as September 1st to enable as many companies as possible to enter in these difficult times. The event, the most glittering and prestigious awards night on the shipping calendar, will see around 22 general awards presented, following the recommendations of an elite, independent judging panel. In addition, there will be a number of special individual awards recognising the contributions made by high profile industry leaders and innovators.
Clive Woodbridge, chairman of judges, says, “We know this year has been difficult for many companies and we recognise that resources may be stretched. So, we have extended the deadline past our normal date to give everyone that little more time to submit their nominations.”
TMS is also repeating an initiative introduced last year, which is to invite companies submitting nominations to also send in a testimonial from a customer or business partner to support the evidence base. Each testimonial should be no more than one page long, and up to a maximum of three testimonials for each nomination will be accepted. These testimonials should be written by customers, business partners, or other individuals and organisations that can testify to the entrant’s qualities and performance.
Clive says, “Last year I and all the other judges found it extremely valuable having testimonials from people who knew the nominee well enough to be able to make observations from a first-hand point of view. There is no doubt that those companies submitting testimonials will find it helps them make their case. So, my advice is to please reach out to secure these validations as soon as possible.”
The TMS Awards are now in their 7th year and in that time have earned a deserved reputation for being the highest quality event of their type in the region.
